Behind the altar, as focus of the worship, is Rublev’s Trinity icon. A hanging
crucifix marks the gateway to the sanctuary. The Eucharist is celebrated
Eastward-facing with the community gathered in the sanctuary, to either
side of the celebrant, but not between him and the Trinity icon.
